During our stay in New York, we became increasingly aware of the constant presence of its iconic taxis, a symbol deeply embedded in the city’s visual identity. This everyday element became the starting point for Taxis & Red, a series that explores repetition, colour, and urban rhythm through analogue photography. The images were taken between 23 August and 1 September 2025 using a Fujica Half and Fujifilm Color 200 film, and developed after our return to Valencia, Spain, at Malvarrosa Film Lab. The printing process took place in the workshops of the Drawing Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos, Universitat Politècnica de València, using a RISO MF9350 printer. The four-colour prints were produced using 59 masters and four inks—bright red, medium blue, yellow, and black—on 135 gsm recycled paper.
